Happy New Year.

Wishing you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. Well the new year is here. Who can believe it 2012. What plans have you made for this year? Are you going forward? Putting into practice what you learned in 2011? Are you striving to improve your skill set? Thinking of strategies to improve your business?

Something that I know that I will be looking at this year is the use of video. Video is an excellent way to promote your business. Also great for building your list. The reason is that you connect on a deeper level with your users by using video. What is that old saying, ‘One picture is worth a thousand words’

Some of you may be worried about putting your face on camera, but may be it’s the time to face your fears. But there are other ways that you can use video. You could get a screen shot program that captures anything you are doing on screen and saves it in a format that you can publish as a video. You could use a program such as Power point make a presentation on screen capture it using your capture software and a voice over and hey presto you have your first video.

You may smile but most of the sales videos, video tutorials that we see on the internet are done this way. Some of you may cry Micro Soft products are so expensive. Yes I would agree. Hey why not try Open Office Org, or Libre Office both are Open Source equivalents? What you get is the full office package for free. Some would say that it looks a bit dated, but hey what do you want prettiness or functionality? So then for next to nothing you could be producing your very own video sales/tutorials in 2012.
Why not join me in pushing forward in 2012. Please leave a comment and share your thoughts. I would love to hear.

To your success,

I’m happy to hear that you’ll be doing some videos this year Ed. Videos are something everyone needs to start implementing if they haven’t already. They are predicting that by 2013, the majority of people online will be watching videos instead of reading content. You certainly don’t want to be left behind.

I’m the first to admit that I was frightened to death when I put my first video out there but over 200 of them later (I’ve deleted quite a few), it’s a piece of cake now. You just need to get over that initial fear. Trust me, it’s so worth it.

Will look forward to seeing those from you this year Ed.
